ETSA Album Esai Dan Cerpen Menghadirkan Karya Karya Bermutu Dari Pengarang Kontemporer Dunia Seperti Jack Finney, Peter Carey, Natusme Soseki, Woody Allen, Raymond Carver, Bessie Head Dan Lain Lain Dikemas Dalam Bentuk Antologi Buku Ini Menghantarkan Imajinasi Anda Tanpa Batas Mulai Dari Kenangan Masa Kecil, Cinta, Misteri, Fabel, Legenda, Ironi, Permainan Bahasa, Bahkan Satire Terhadap Kekuasaan I suddenly absolutely love Vonnegut kumcer pertama yang gw beli, waktu itu cuma 6000 perak di diskonan gunung agung Dcerpen yang jadi judul buku ini gw rasa terjemahannya rada njelimet, ceritanya bagus bagus gan gw pribadi paling suka ceritanya natsume suseki, karakter utama dan POV nya dari seekor kucing satir nya kena banget Harrison Bergeron is such a thought provoking short story in the sense that the society they live in is considered our societies goals , because of the equality among everyone Also their society is in a post apocalyptic state where scrap metal and weirdly old styled gadgets are used Harrsion is the son of Grace and George Bergeron of whom contains traits which in that society is considered unfair, hes smart, handsome, tall, has a muscular build, and great eye sight He has to wear handicaps which are there gadgets in which stop people in society from being different Harrison is imprisoned due to his use of differences He breaks out because he is tired of being treated so unfairly He begins to fight for their rights to be different and express who they are In the process he creates a romantic relationship with a beautiful ballerina and they both get shot for removing their handicaps and being who they are Harrison Bergeron, very thought provoking, interesting, and also another perspective on how our society can end up. 159 2013 While many critics feel this book is weighed down by symbolism or excessive language, I feel it s a good commentary on our life, then and now. Recommendation I would recommend Harrison Bergeron to anyone who is worried about the future I say that because this story tells of a possible solution to today s problems Personal Response This short story creeped me out because I like living in a world of differences It would be weird to live where everyone is pretty much the same person Characterization Harrison In the beginning you find out that Harrison is really smart Because of intelligence, he got sent to a jail In the end he escaped and tore off the chains and weights of the ballerinas so they could really excel Then he was shot by the Handicapper General Hazel Hazel had an average intelligence she didn t need to wear an earpiece Throughout the story you could tell she was a little slower because she would repeat herself George George was very smart He has to wear an earpiece to lower his thinking level The earpiece and weights were extremely heavy for him Plot In the beginning you find out that Hazel and George lost their son in April 2081 His name is Harrison Bergeron At the start of the story, Hazel and George are watching ballerinas on the T.V Some have weights or earpieces They are made to wear them so everyone is at the same level no one is stronger, faster, prettier, or smarter than anyone else Equality Hazel doesn t wear either, while George wears heavy weights and an earpiece The earpieces interrupt your thoughts with loud noises every couple seconds At the end of the ballerina show, there was a warning bulletin it was a mugshot of Harrison He had escaped Then out of nowhere there was shaking like an earthquake Harrison had arrived He tore off all of the girls weights and earpieces The girls were ecstatic, dancing with freedom they never had It all ended when the Handicapper General came in and shot the Emperor and Empress.
