Another short, sweet read but with a little suspense to it than Head Over Heels Sanctuary Cove 1 I always think this author has a good knack of coming up with original storylines and she s done it again here Mai Tran is a meditation counsellor, and the hero ex military man now personal trainer Jared comes to see Mai for help with insomnia.Mai sorts Jared s sleep problems pretty darn quick, but begins to give him the type of problems instead that sleep can t fix.Jared and Mai begin a casual relationship, that is quickly upset by the return of Jared s ex, although I like how the introduction of the ex isn t used to create jealousy from Mai as the cause of conflict between Mai and Jared. There is a great cast of secondary characters, including a villain and I liked how he was drawn Once again there is good humour, warm characters, some pretty hot scenes between Jared and Mai, and some lovely interaction between characters at Mai s family dinners, and at the diner.4.5 stars

Though I have never physically been to California, I feel as though I know it a lot than I did before, having just finished reading California Dreaming Evie Snow, the author creation of Australian romance writer Georgina Penney, has crafted a delightful and heartwarming romance, filled with small town charm a la Gil Girls and an eclectic cast led by the soulful therapist Mai Tran and former soldier Jared Nairn They are attractive people right off the page and they are well drawn, informed by intriguing back stories that add real depth and complexity and contribute great story moments to the narrative herein I was invested in them from the outset and quickly came to care for Mai and Jared as their budding romance took some sweet, sexy and quite unpredictable turns That verdant and attractive stretch of the Californian coast between L.A and San Francisco was vividly represented, almost picture post card I seriously want to visit there, having read this book and enjoy a seaside cappuccino at Cameron s Snow Penney has a beautiful knack of weaving a serious narrative undercurrent to her work that makes her romances a cut above and this is no less true for California Dreaming It is always a pleasant surprise to see how the author tackles these and you inevitably leave her stories feeling as though you ve encountered something important in them California Dreaming is everything that is lovely about good romantic storytelling I adored it.

Set in the fictional Californian town of Sanctuary, California Dreaming is a sizzling romance story between Jared, an army veteran struggling with insomnia and a broken marriage, and Mai, the hypnotherapy therapist facing a professional scandal and trying to fight her feelings for her client Despite their best endeavours, they can t hide how they feel about each other but with so many obstacles can they make their relationship work California Dreaming goes beneath the skin of its two main characters to look at the damage guilt can do and the ethics of a therapist dating a client though often in a very tongue in cheek way There s also plenty of suspense as Mai battles to uncover who has been spreading rumours about her professional misconduct and Jared is troubled by his ex wife The story is told from the viewpoint of both Mai and Jared, and there are several side plots dealing with their friends which kept me glued to the book The characters are really well drawn and make this book a cut above the rest This is a story full of humour, laugh out loud one liners, characters so real you wish they were your friends, and, of course, plenty of romance Perfect escapism.

I was lucky enough Thankyou for an ARC in return for an honest review, and got it to help take the pain away of 7 hours on a train This is lovely, light, feel good romance, cleanly written, with heroine her girlfriend having a nice spark and the ability to stand up for themselves without being too out there challenging Men, well Jared anyway, suitably hot and Sanctuary a great escapist location Enough story to keep me happy though romance primary expatients complaints about unethical behaviour in therapy gets the tension level up The first chapter really got me in and the hypnotherapy role done well though some boundary crossing which at least is discussed agonised over sorry I m a therapist so I notice this sort of issue than most Fun read.

Jared Nairn fought in Iraq and Afghanistan, but nothing could have prepared him for the heartbreak he felt when his marriage failed, or the lack of sleep he has suffered since Mai Tran, a meditation expert, is fighting a battle on a different front someone is spreading rumours that are calling her professionalism into question, and have the potential to threaten her career and business The last thing Jared and Mai expect is the instant attraction they feel for each other when he seeks her help for his insomnia With a fun side story between Mai s friend Kristen and Jared s mate Cameron, the intrigue behind the false rumours threatening Mai s business, and a bizarre request from Jared s ex wife California Dreaming is full of witty flanter, sizzling chemistry, and the sexiest of times Evie Snow writes engaging characters and her wonderful storytelling brings together everything I love about romantic comedy.ARC gratefully received for an honest review.

I made sure to read Head Over Heels before reading California Dreaming since they re in the same series but they are completely standalone books The only similarity between the two is where the books are located I was very glad this one was longer than the first and just as cute and fun to read California Dreaming follows Mai, who is dealing with the present, and Jared, who is dealing with the past, and how they end up helping each other conquer their struggles Don t get me wrong, this isn t some super deep book, but there are some things that they both have to deal with Definitely worth the read though.

Jarem can t remember the last time he slept one full night After a rocky divorce and various deployment in Irak and Afghanistan, ex military Jared is open to any help he can get even a meditation therapist that his friend Eric suggested After meeting with Mai Tran he gets a full nigth sleep and he feels wonderful, but he can t even remember her When he mets her in town the attraction is so strong that they have problems fighting it Can Jared and Mai have a future together when the last is still hunting Jared and Mai have ethical issues with Jared being his client A funny and intense love story.

This is a little complex than Head Over Heels and so worth reading I was absorbed in the plot and found myself reading into the early hours I m now a definite fan of these two authors, long may they write.
